Job Summary
Sign Estimator
The Sign Estimator is responsible for development of designs and estimates of each project for our key accounts. The candidate must have the ability to contribute in competitive bids, project management, and communicating effectively with Sales, Operations, and Finance teams. The Sign Estimator will be leveraging the Cyrious Estimating Software to conduct all estimates for our company. The individual is responsible for understanding changes in raw material prices, manufacturing labor processes, and other factors to accurately estimate quotes for our customers. The individual will be responsible for reducing and improving lead to quote time and quote variance % per our Oracle ERP system.
Primary Responsibilities
- Minimum of 3+ years of sign estimation and fabrication experience
- Experience in metal fabrication especially aluminum and steel
- Experience fabricating complex signage for accurate quotes such as: Pylons, Monuments, Custom Fabrication Designs
- Ability to create CAD/Corel drawings to create 3D renderings, CNC cut files, architectural and other drawings as needed by our customers
- Experience with pricing competitive bid packages with respect to material, labor, fixed overhead, and profit margins
- Interoperate city codes and regulations (sign program requirements)- apply them to competitive bids for accurate results and customer signage expectations
- Additional requirements include other sign trades such as fabrication, plastic, vinyl plotting, channel letters, awnings, large format design, print production process, trimming, routing/cutting, and installation
- Work collaboratively with Sales, Finance, and Operations departments for customer needs, especially in quote turnaround time
- Actively participates in Lean and 5S initiatives
- Maintains the highest ethical standards and effectively communicates to team members
- Performs other duties as required
Basic Qualifications
- 4 year Bachelor’s Degree or Associates Degree preferred
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Corel, CAD, Adobe Creative Suite & Illustrator Experience required
- Minimum of three years of Sign Industry welding/fabrication experience required
- Experience with CNC, Accu-Bend, Steel/Aluminum fabrication processes and equipment
- Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities
- Must have the ability to formulate solutions and resolve issues in timely manner
- Excellent communication skills and is self-motivated with leadership skills
- Excellent customer services skills and able to build effective cross-functional partnerships
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to write and deliver effective group presentations
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Power Point)
- Must be well organized, detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task
- Ability to implement creative ideas for continuous improvement
- Open to working overtime or weekends when required
Preferred Qualifications
- Sign industry welding experience is highly preferred
- Ability to interpret sign drawings / prints is a plus
- Bilingual (Spanish / English) is a plus
