Job Summary

Production Control Coordinator

 

The Production Control Coordinator is responsible for the material planning / scheduling, raw material purchasing, work order facilitation and overall production flow / expedite requests.  The Production Control Coordinator must be able to operate the CNC machine, Accubend machine, and Graphtec cutters.  It’s essential that the Production Control Coordinator has experience in assembly and wiring of the electrical signs.  The Production Control Coordinator ensures that the visual operations schedules are aligned by department to the customer demand.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Developing and executing production schedule in alignment to customer demand and expectations
  • Create job packages for each department and manages operations transactions in Oracle to ensure labor time is being charged correctly and accurately
  • Communicate installation schedules and coordinate with the lead installer tools or materials needed to complete job on time
  • Purchase and negotiate prices on raw material to ensure favorable purchase price variance (PPV)
  • Communicate with operations team on stock item purchases or shortages
  • Attains the skills to cover manufacturing departments:  CNC, Channel Letter Accubend, Assembly, Installation
  • Understanding how to maintain equipment maintenance schedule to prevent machine down time
  • Conduct and maintains physical inventory and accuracy in Oracle ERP while developing plan of action to improve inventory levels for optimal customer service
  • Receive supplier products from Shipping / Receiving department to ensure accurate inventory control
  • Maintain company internal quality system by documenting and helping improve quality challenges in organization
  • Measure key production control metrics: Job On Time Start %, Job On Time Finish %, Customer On Time Delivery %
  • Communicates and supports Company policies, goals and initiatives to department
  • Actively participates in Lean and 5S initiatives
  • Maintains the highest ethical standards
  • Performs other duties as required

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Minimum of two years of Sign Industry experience preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities
  • Must have the ability to formulate solutions and resolve issues in timely manner
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to write and deliver effective group presentations
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Power Point)
  • Excellent customer services skills and able to build effective cross-functional partnerships
  • Must be well organized, detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to implement creative ideas for continuous improvement
  • Must be able to travel 20% of the time locally

Preferred Qualifications

  • Sign industry experience is highly preferred
  • Ability to interpret sign drawings / prints is a plus
  • Bilingual (Spanish / English) is a plus
